FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions about our cold brew?
Imagine a giant tea bag (like the size of your palm), only instead of tea, it’s filled with freshly ground coffee. And instead of dropping it into a mug, you drop it into a big pitcher of cold water.
Because it’s cold water, it takes longer for the coffee to seep into the water, so you let it sit in the fridge for like 18 hours or so.
Then, you toss the bag in the trash and you’re left with fresh, delicious cold brew coffee.
If you use one bag, mixed with 4 cups of water, that means you’re making a batch of cold brew that you can drink without diluting. Just pour straight from the pitcher over ice.
If you use two bags, mixed with 4 cups of water, that means you’re making cold brew concentrate. Now you just have to pour half as much cold brew, and dilute the rest with either milk or water.
Making concentrate is great if you’re as lazy as us, because you only need to make one batch and it will brew twice as many cups!
Your cold brew will last up to 14 days after you make it as long as you store it sealed and in the fridge.
Even though there is little chance you will have any of your delicious Rime Cold Brew left over, don’t throw it away!
You see those slowly wilting plants in the corner that you’ve been ignoring? They LOVE cold brew.
Dilute your cold brew down with 2 cups of water to each 1 cup of cold brew and get watering!
Look, this is kind of a tough question because it depends entirely on you.
If you are brewing cold brew concentrate, meaning that you’ve used 2 or more bags with 4 cups of water, then your cold brew will have twice as much caffeine.
However, cold brew concentrate is usually diluted with milk, water, ice, etc. This means that while the initial pour of cold brew has more caffeine, you’re actually drinking less coffee.
So, you can choose your own caffeine levels. Please don’t make us do any more math.
You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. This is America! Technically this is being written from Canada, but we also enjoy freedom.
If you’re a straight up coffee kinda person, we recommend you just brew yourself straight cold brew, not a concentrate.
Toss two bags into a pitcher and fill it with 8 cups of water. This still get you cold brew you can drink undiluted and it will have the same effects as a regular cup of coffee.
There is a sweet spot when it comes to cold brewing, and that is between 10 – 24 hours of steep time.
The strength and flavor of the cold brew will increase from beyond 10 hours.
Anything below 10 hours will get you some flavorless brown water. We do not recommend.
Anything past 24 hours and you’re going to get a dark, bitter woody plant water. We do not recommend.
Our cold brew bags are made from organic material. When you’re finished with it, toss it into that disgusting organic bin you keep under your sink.
To be honest, the coffee bag will actually make that thing smell better.
By the way, clean that thing once an a while you monster.
